What is Fashion Speaks?

Fashion Speaks is an annual charity benefit and fashion show. Featuring hot musical performances, art installations, star power, celebrity stylists and media outlets throughout several communities within Los Angeles. Fashion Speak's showcase highlights emerging talent in fashion, art, beauty and music, exposing "rising stars" to buyers, industry icons, media and consumers. This multi faceted event includes a beauty and style lounge, cocktail party, gallery exhibition, runway show, concert and an awards presentation, followed by an incredible after party.

This year Fashion Speaks is partnering with the It Gets Better Organization. Undeniably bullying effects our children, takes its toll on families, schools and society at large. This charity promotes their strong anti-bullying campaign and their mission to offer hope to America's effected LGTB adolescence, while ensuring they are treated fairly and gain respect for who they are. Fashion Speaks is excited to invite young individuals whose lives have been touched by this epidemic to submit an application to work along side industry mentors during this production and gain valuable experience. We are passionate about inspiring individualism and build a supportive creative community where no one feels alone or intimidated. Lucid 2.0, Celebrity Suites LA & Project Ethos are collaborating to bring you a very entertaining, uplifting and enlightening red carpet event, where several celebrities and industry icons will be in attendance.

Special media guests include Nylon Magazine, GLAAD, City of West Hollywood, LA Weekly, LA Times & Entertainment Tonight.

June 2012 Fashion Speaks will produce its first benefit and gala for the arts. Avalon Night club will host our event. 7:30-9:30 Red Carpet, 10:00 Runway Show and Art Exhibit.

Calling All Interns:

Fashion Speaks is committed to raising awareness and will be offering a partnership with young people seriously interested in a career in the entertainment industry. We are looking for self motivated, flexible fast learners, who possess people skills and "a passion for fashion" to train as interns and help build a broad portfolio. Part-time and seasonal positions are available to top applicants who will be eligible for a 3 month production studio internship during LA Fashion Week and Emmy Week Events at Paramount Pictures and Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, CA. Interns must be available to attend 2-3 production meetings a week and work from home for 12-20 hours a week. We looking for interns for graphic artists, marketing and pr, production assistants, fashion design students and stylists. Interns will be invited to attend red carpet events once a week with their mentor, as well.
